Meet Mr. Roman
Welcome back Superstar families! ! I hope you enjoyed summer and are ready for the upcoming school year. This will be my first full year at Skinner West. For those of you who do not know me, last year I started at Skinner West in March and taught all the Kindergarten- 5th grade PE classes. This year I will be teaching K-8th grade and I am very excited to get started! Here is a little bit about myself:
I graduated from Northeastern Illinois University in December of 2021 with my Bachelors in Physical Education and a Minor in Communications. I was born and raised in Chicago, and am a product of CPS. Before coming to Skinner West, I coached high school basketball as a Junior Varsity Head coach at Taft High School and Ogden International High School. Some things I enjoy doing outside of school are exercising, trying new places to eat, spending time with my family, and watching movies and sports. Being physically active has always been a huge part of my life. Since I was five years old, I played on different sports teams such as basketball, baseball, and soccer. As I grew older, into my high school years I grew a passion for other types of physical activity such as weight lifting and yoga.
The goal of our physical education program is to teach our students lifelong physical activities to promote a healthy lifestyle. This year we will teach units of team sports, individual-dual sports, fitness, health and wellness, dance, and team building. We are looking forward to a great year!
If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to email me.
